About Me

I studied music at Dartington College of Arts and have taught singing and composition for over 20 years. I've sung and taught around the UK as well as in France, Egypt, Cyprus, Spain and New York. My solo work includes performing alongside Jacqui Dankworth at Exeter Cathedral.

I've led choirs for various productions including Ellen Kent touring opera and Bill Kenwright's touring shows Evita and Joseph.

In 2009 I began my own company, Big Noise Chorus Ltd, running adult community choirs singing secular music. I now have 4 choirs across Devon involving over 350 singers.

In 2022 I founded Birdhouse Singers, an a cappella pop and jazz choir who have performed with Sound of the Sirens, Devon's dynamic contemporary folk duo.

In 2014 I spent a term working as a singing technique teacher at Arts Educational Schools in West London, which provides performers into the West End. From 2013-2016 I toured the UK as a choir master with integrated circus company Extraordinary Bodies with their show, Weighting.

I regularly meet with medical voice experts to ensure his technical knowledge is up to date with the latest medical findings and have recently completed the Estill Figure Proficiency (EFP) course with Estill Voice International.

Whatever your level of ability or experience, you'll find a warm welcome from me. I pride myself on maintaining a relaxed and friendly style of teaching.
